We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of Australia’s first RESIN8™ facility in Melbourne, Australia. This exciting event, celebrated by over 100 stakeholders from government, academia, industry, and nonprofits, marks a significant milestone in the advancement of Australia’s construction and recycling industries.
Located in Tottenham, the facility is a game-changer in the construction industry in Australia, turning hard-to-recycle plastics into high-performance, low-carbon building materials.
Shane Ramsey, Managing Director of CRDC Australia, was proud to highlight Melbourne as the fourth global city to install a RESIN8 facility. “Thanks to the strong support from ANZRP and the Victorian Government, we’re transforming local plastic waste into valuable, eco-friendly building materials right here in our community,” he said during the launch.
Warren Overton, CEO of ANZRP, called the facility’s opening a “pivotal moment” for e-waste management in Australia. Starting with the capacity to process 1 metric tonne of plastic per hour, there are ambitious plans to expand this as demand increases.
The facility is also stepping up to fill the gap left by recent recycling challenges, particularly with soft plastics. In collaboration with the Soft Plastics Recycling Taskforce, it is spearheading trials to find new recycling solutions for supermarket soft plastics. More to follow as we expand our business in Australia…
